The die-hard yachting fraternity considers the Brisbane to Gladstone Yacht Race (B2G) to be one of Australia's flagship ocean races. The race is an icon and the highest profile Easter weekend sporting event in Queensland - setting sail from Morton Bay on Good Friday and finishing in Gladstone.
In 2016, CMM was approached by the Queensland Cruising Yacht Club (QCYC), to improve the profile of the B2G, increase audience interaction and participation and provide a platform for which everyone, no matter where in the world, could watch the start of the race.
To achieve this, Cooper McKenzie Marketing (CMM) produced the first-ever Live Stream broadcast of the start of the 69th B2G in 2017.
Ten months of planning included event management and consultation, stakeholder engagement, brand development, pre and post-publicity, media consultation, sourcing sponsorship, event merchandise, and the Live Stream itself.
Our team of account managers, graphic designers, commentators, cameramen, drone pilots, reporters, producers and directors are the best!
Since 2017, CMM has produced the Live Stream of the start of the Brisbane to Gladstone Yacht Race every year, with the 75th Anniversday Race in 2023 not only being shown on all B2G social media feeds but also on the popular Sports Streaming Service Kayo Sports, opening the B2G Race up to a whole new viewing audience Australia wide.
